Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
Our careers education strategy is to connect pupil learning and experiences to aspirational career and academic opportunities.
CEIAG play an important role in the curriculum that supports: pupils' interests, strengths and aspirations, pupils' achievement and pupils to make decisions and manage transitions as learners and workers.
Our universal careers offer for all pupils includes:
- Careers advisor appointments for all pupils in every year group (group sessions in Key Stage 3 and one to one sessions in Key Stage 4)
- Future You Fortnight: learning about careers and future skills across all subjects & a careers fair for all pupils
- A PSHE curriculum that explicitly supports learning about careers in every year group
- All pupils visiting a Further Education provider
- All pupils completing the Future Skills Questionnaire each year
- Assemblies from colleges and apprenticeship providers
We also aim for all pupils to have an experience of a workplace through participating in workplace safaris. Workplace safaris are transformative visits to workplaces where pupils are given an insight into the world of work. Recent workplace safaris have included
- Barclays Radbroke Technology Campus
- Bury Council
Pupils also have recently had the opportunity to participate in:
- Festival of Apprenticeships
- Manchester Metropolitan University visit
- Cellnex Connected Communities workshop
- Everfi workshops (with Aldermore, Boohoo and EA)
- Lloyds Bank takeover day
- Armed Forces workshops
- Apprenticeship visits: North Lancs Training Group & Alliance Learning
