Transport for Greater Manchester is inviting our school community to take part in shaping the new School Travel Strategy.
The draft strategy sets out their ambitions to boost the number of primary, secondary and further education students travelling via sustainable means by 2030. The city-region is seeking to tackle the barriers to young people walking, wheeling and cycling, or using public transport. It has been developed as a shared priority between the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and the 10 local authorities.
TFGM have now launched the consultation on the draft strategy and would like to encourage you to take part.
The 10-week consultation is open to everyone who lives or travels in Greater Manchester. Children and young people and their parents and guardians are encouraged to share their views in particular, as their experiences and ideas are essential in shaping a transport system that works for them now and in the future.
TFGM are writing to ask for your support in raising the profile of the consultation and helping to encourage as many children and young people, parents and school staff to take part and share their views.
